Swimming Pool Installation

Fibreglass pools are the quickest in-ground pool to install and as we generally have our full range in stock, delivery is quick and efficient, so you can be swimming in no time.

How do I install my Sundance Pool?

You can consider doing it all yourself, doing some of it yourself and hiring in help for the trickier parts, or hiring a contractor to look after everything. The following information sets out the factors you should take into account when making this decision:-

DIY

Installing a Sundance Pool requires the skills of a competent DIY practitioner who is willing and able to take on a large project. You will need to plan the process, dig a large hole to reasonably accurate dimensions, carefully drop the fibreglass pool into it, backfill with sand and cement and build the surrounding paved area. In addition, simple plumbing skills are required to install the heating and drainage components.

Assisted DIY

Some of our clients do much of the work themselves but hire in help for the heavy lifting. Your local building contractor will probably be able to assist. A mechanical excavator, for instance, makes light work of the digging and can also be used to help lift the pool into the hole. Perhaps you’re not confident about the pipework: if so, your normal domestic plumbing or heating contractor should be able to take on that part of the job.

Hiring a general contractor

If the DIY approach doesn’t appeal you can consider hiring a general building contractor to undertake the project. As with any building job you need to select a reliable and competent firm but it shouldn’t be necessary to insist on previous experience in the field as the skills required are not specialised.

Hiring a specialist contractor

Specialist swimming pool contractors are available in most areas. A good one will be able to advise you on all aspects of the job, relieving you of any worries about the planning and delivery of the project. Inevitably, service at this level will be significantly more expensive than the alternatives, but it may be the right decision for you.

Maintenance for your Sundance Pool

In order to maintain a "healthy" pool, there are 3 aspects which need to be controlled.

1. The physical cleanliness of the pool i.e. the removal of leaves, dust, etc. by vacuuming

2. Maintenance of correct acidity/alkalinity – the pH level.

3. Correct sanitization of the water by the use of a Salt Chlorinator or addition of chlorine.
